Mubarak Yousuf al Rumaihi made a winning return to the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) arena as he topped two competitions besides being also taking the second place in one on the opening day of the QNB Al Rayyan International Showjumping Championship on Friday.
Two weeks ago, Mubarak had won the Medium Tour of the national equestrian series Hathab’s second leg at the same venue.
Back in action on his trusted mount Vivaldi K, Mubarak won the Special Two Phases FEI Art. 274.5.6 (140 cm) class besides also claiming the second place riding Bolandro.
On Vivaldi K he returned flawless and best times of 42.61secs and 30.56secs to win the top prize of €1,925.
With Bolandro too he had clean rides clocking 43.10secs and 34.49secs for the second prize of €1,575.
Hamad al Attiyah on Clinton clinched the third place with times of 41.82secs and 36.87secs.
Earlier in the Table A, Against the clock FEI Art. 238.2.1 (120/130cm) event, Mubarak emerged on top riding Viking D.
His time of 59.19secs was the best and fetched him a prize of €1,250.
Saeed Nasser al Qadi on Daydreamer EC claimed the runners-up spot clocking 64.27secs, while Jaber Rashid al Amri on Canavaro de Muze (E.T.) was third in 64.60secs.
The two-star €60,000 competition, which was launched in 2014, has been organised by the QEF in cooperation with Al Shaqab.
Action on the second day (Friday) will begin at 2pm.
