THE Evaluation Institute of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has issued the performance report of 338 schools and 160 public and private kindergartens for the academic year 2017/2018.
The report based on participation of the schools and kindergartens in five comprehensive educational survey questionnaires for the director, the school, the kindergarten, the teacher and the students,as well as academic achievement of students has been published on the ministry's website http://www.edu.gov.qa/Ar/ServicesCenter/Pages/QatariSchoolsListing.aspx.
The academic achievement of students covers their performances in national tests for third, sixth and ninth grades in public and private Arabic schools, as well as international tests, such as Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS).
The performance report cards showed the response rate of parents, including both citizens and residents,to fill the questionnaire in public and private schools and kindergartens.
The report cards serve as a tool for schools and kindergartens to identify areas in which the students need improvement in order to develop plans to address the issue. It also enables parents to know the level of performance of their children's schools or any other schools where they wish to get their children admitted.
The report cards also help decision makers to monitor the performance of schools over the years by looking at comparisons of national or international assessment results, identifying the views of different parties in the education process, and being one of the sources through which future educational decisions can be taken.
