THE Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed al Kuwari affirmed that Qatar National Day is a glorious occasion, during which the people of Qatar celebrate their original values and the great achievements in all fields.
Speaking to QNA on the occasion of Qatar National Day, the minister said that on this timeless national occasion, Qataris are inspired by their great leaders, who have written the glorious history of Qatar, to build the nation on solid foundations, to enhance national identity and to make great achievements with strong will despite the difficulties they have faced.
She noted that loyalty and love for the homeland and for the wise leadership are embodied in the National Day celebrations as the people of Qatar spontaneously express themselves in an inspiring scene that reflects unique cohesion between the leadership and the people.
Dr Kuwari pointed out that right from December 18, 1878, when Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani took over and laid the foundations of the modern State of Qatar, until today under the wise leadership of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, the State of Qatar has made historic achievements that have placed it among the developed countries in various fields.
She said that the motto of this year’s National Day, which was derived from the founder’s words “As long as it is proven by our deeds ... Qatar remains free,” confirms that good deeds inherited by Qataris across generations are the foundation of Qatar, adding that the slogan “Qatar remains free” affirms the strength and determination of the Qatari people to maintain their freedom, dignity, and independence whatever the challenges.
The minister remarked further that Qatar achieved so much because of its great leaders who loved their country and their people, exchanged love and loyalty with them and worked together with unswerving determination to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development for the benefit of future generations.
She mentioned in this context the remarkable achievements made by Qatar in health, education, manpower, social development, culture, sports, security, and various other fields.
In the field of health, the minister pointed out that Qatar’s among the world’s best health systems as it has been ranked 13th globally after being ranked 27th in 2008, according to the Legatum Prosperity Index.
She added that the State continues to work hard to achieve further progress by adopting the highest quality standards in the health system and having a highly qualified workforce, in addition to the expansion of health facilities and the adoption of advanced care systems.
Furthermore, Dr Kuwari stressed that Qatar has overcome the effects of the siege imposed on it, thanks to Allah Almighty and the wisdom of the leadership and the sincerity and dedication of the loyal people, adding that Qatar succeeded in overcoming the challenges posed by the unjust siege while making sure that it does not affect the lives of the population.
