Commercial Bank held a special celebration on Monday to mark the achievements of Qatar under the leadership of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani.
The bank’s chairman, members of the board of directors, executive management, employees and clients attended the ceremony at its headquarters in West Bay.
As part of the programme, a traditional musical operette, ‘Hadza Al Dasha’ was presented to guests.
The operette told the story of sailors preparing to depart for a voyage in search of their livelihood at sea by saying goodbye to their family and loved ones, reflecting the values, traditions and culture of Qatari society with its emphasis on overcoming struggles, patience and giving.
Besides, Commercial Bank showcased a new song (sheila) called ‘Yeslam Tamim’ and organised a wide range of activities for its employees that celebrated the rich heritage, culture and history of Qatar, reflecting the love and loyalty of the bank’s employees to the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani.
Commercial Bank Chairman Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Jabor al Thani, said, “The slogan of this year’s Qatar National Day (QND) is ‘As long as it was proven by our deeds’, which is a verse in a poem by Qatar’s Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. At Commercial Bank, this principle acts as our guiding light not only when organising our Qatar National Day celebrations, but throughout the year in all the Bank’s activities.”
In line with its corporate social responsibility commitments, the Commercial Bank has created and distributed a limited edition set of national day souvenirs for children.
The bank distributed the souvenirs to schools, hospitals and the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs. The bank also produced a film in Souq Waqif that featuring traders talking about their memories and what Qatar National Day meant to them.
Omar Hussain Alfardan, Managing Director of Commercial Bank, said, “Commercial Bank has been part of Qatar’s banking industry for the last 44 years and the Qatar National Day activities that we have organised for our employees are in line with our commitment to Qatar and the community.
