Speaker of the Shura Council HE Ahmed bin Abdulla bin Zaid al Mahmoud met on Monday with President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gabriela Cuevas Barron who is currently visiting the country.
The meeting discussed the preparations of the Shura Council to host the 140th meeting of the IPU General Assembly and the accompanying meetings to be held in Doha from April 6 to 10. Cooperation between the Shura Council and the IPU in various areas of parliamentary action was also reviewed.
The IPU president expressed her satisfaction with the arrangements for the meetings and the keenness of the Shura Council’s speaker and officials to ensure all arrangements for their success.
