The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary traffic diversion on Al Luqta Street for a distance of three kilometres, from Tilted Intersection to approximately 300 metres after Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange, to facilitate the completion of the road works.
The diversion, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented on December 19, 2018 and will be in place until January 5, 2019. During the period, Doha-bound traffic from Dukhan and vice versa will be diverted to the two-lane service roads that run parallel to Al Luqta Street.
On December 21 and 22, as well as on December 28 and 29, all left turn movements on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange will be closed and road users will be required to make a U-turn at Tilted Intersection, Bani Hajer Interchange or Al Wajbah Interchange to get back to Khalifa Avenue. Once back at Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange, they will be able to make a right turn towards their destinations. Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. It has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit of 50kph and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
