THE Cultural Village Foundation – Katara will launch the third edition of the Mahaseel shopping festival on December 31. This comes as part of its commitment to supporting and promoting local agricultural and livestock sector.
Around 22 local farms, flower nurseries and six national companies for dairies and meat products are participating in Mahaseel market this year.
The market will feature Qatari farms selling various types of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants and local companies offering food products related to livestock, in addition to natural honey and the best varieties of local dates produced by Qatari farms.
Twenty-two Qatari farms and six major national companies specialised in producing and selling sheep meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and natural juices are participating in the market.
The festival will also include entertainment and awareness activities for children and adults to enhance their experience while shopping. It will feature workshops on plantation and flowers arrangement, in addition to providing visitors with some essential knowledge about agriculture.
Mahaseel serves as a good marketing platform for local farms, which offer reasonable prices for their produce.
