General Directorate of Civil Defence conducted an evacuation drill at the Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) building in Grand Hamad Street.
The drill began with a mock smoke emission notification at one of the offices in the building. It was immediately reported to the Civil Defence.
A fire brigade team quickly moved from Al Ghanim Civil Defence Center. The fire alarm was sounded in the building and employees and customers were alerted through loudspeakers to evacuate through emergency exits.
The Civil Defence team arrived as the mock fire broke out from one of the offices on the first floor and was handled and controlled. The evacuation of employees and customers was also carried out by the security and safety staff at the bank.(TNN)
