Kahramaa, represented by the National Program for the Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), recently organised a full day event at iconic Kahramaa Awareness Park (KAP) to create awareness about recycling of vehicles’ tyres, its mechanism, process, health hazard, environmental concerns among others.
The event aimed to protect environment from the solid waste.
The event held under the theme ‘Old tires New Life’ was attended by the Kahramaa’s Tarsheed Department Manager Abdul Azeez al Hammadi, Public Relations & Communication Manager Mohamed Ali Saleh al Mohannadi and a number of senior functionaries of Kahramaa and other organisations, including above 700 children from Independent and Private schools.
The event comes as part of Kahramaa initiative to raise awareness about climate change and to reduce carbon emission by seven percent by 2022. In order to achieve the objectives of the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), the participants learned about the health and environmental hazards of burning tires and the importance of recycling in the area of art, agriculture and sport activities.
The recycling awareness event aimed at promoting a culture of sustainability to reduce carbon emissions and engaging the private sector in national initiatives, which in turn reflect efforts to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
More than 500 frames were presented by Q-Tire as the official sponsor of the initiative, as well as of Aspire Zone Sports Activities.
