Doha Bank will focus on strengthening its base in the local market and consolidate its position in the international markets, the bank’s chief executive has said.
Talking to Qatar Tribune, Doha Bank Group CEO R Seetharaman said the bank’s focus this year will be to expand in digital banking and e-commerce locally.
As far as expansion in international markets is concerned, he said, 2018 was an eventful year for Doha Bank.
“Last year, we opened three offices in international markets like India, Nepal and Bangladesh,” he said.
With changing dynamics in the world economy, he said, the bank will consolidate its position in international markets this year.
Asked if the bank has any plan to float bonds in 2019, he said, “There is no such plan this year. If need for funds arise, we will look for cost-effective bilateral means.”
