Tripoli: Four civilians were among at least 16 people killed in clashes that erupted earlier this week between rival militias in the Libyan capital Tripoli, the country’s Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The fighting broke out between a militia linked to the UN-backed government and a rival faction from the town of Tarhouna south-west of Tripoli on Wednesday, marking the latest bout of violence in the North African country.
The fatalities included a photo journalist, who was killed on Saturday while covering the violence. The dead also included 11 militiamen and one unidentified person. (DPA)
