Light rain lashed the country on Sunday with the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) forecasting more thundery rain on Monday. “There will be cloudy skies with light rain in northern areas. Strong easterly wind is observed currently, in some areas exceeding 20 kt. Chance of rain expected tomorrow in most areas, which may be thundery at times. Please be cautious and avoid going to sea,” the QMD said on its social media account. “Northwesterly fresh to strong wind expected to affect the country from tomorrow night and continue during the #National_Sport_Day causing a big rise in wave height, blowing dust in some areas, as well as a noticeable drop in temperatures,” it added.
