Qatar Chamber (QC) First Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar discussed bilateral relations with a Kenyan delegation at the chamber’s headquarters on Monday.
The delegation was led by CEO of Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC), Mohamed Guleid, the QC said in a press release.
During talks, Twar said that Qatar attaches great attention to Africa in terms of investment. He noted that Qatar Chamber encourages businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Kenya in sectors such as agriculture, industry, oil and gas.
“East Africa is an important market for Qatar as it offers attractive investment opportunities,” he added.
He said the Kenyans are working in many sectors in Qatar.
Frontier Counties Development Council CEO Mohamed Guleid said the visit aimed at discussing preparations for the forthcoming visit of eight governors from Kenya’s northern governorates to Qatar this year.
Kenya seeks to build partnership and bolster cooperation with Qatar in all fields, he added.
Guleid called upon Qatari businessmen to visit Kenya to identify investment opportunities in livestock, agriculture, tourism, energy and mining sectors and establish joint partnerships with their Kenyan counterparts.
He praised Qatari economy’s robustness and Qatar’s ability to overcome challenges and the country’s significant contributions and achievements all over the world.
