Mohammed Bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy marked its first academic year at a ceremony on Monday. In a speech during the ceremony, Commander of Mohammed Bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser al Hajri said the Academy aims at training students militarily, academically and intellectually on the latest maritime technology and systems. He said the academic year kicked off on Monday with eight semesters divided over four years. The batch includes candidates from the Ministry of Defence and the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security of the Ministry of Interior. He added that the course includes three major disciplines -- marine science, marine engineering, marine supply and management. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Colleges and Institutes Authority Major-General Hamad Ahmed al Nuaimi, Commander of the Amiri Naval Forces Major-General Abdullah Hassan al Sulaiti, Commander of Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College Major-General Fahad Mubarak al Khayareen and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the State of Qatar HE Fikret Ozer.
