Kabul: At least three policemen were killed in the capital of Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province during a shoot-out which erupted over the government-appointed new police chief for the province, officials said on Friday. At least 15 others were wounded in the gun battle that shuttered the whole city for hours, one provincial council member, Mohammad Amin Dara-e Sufi, said. Another provincial council member, Mohammad Ibrahim Khair Andish, put the casualties at four dead & 21 injured. (dpa)
