Held under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al Ali, the third edition of the ‘Future’s Writers’ programme concluded, with event organisers Qatar Charity (QC) declaring the names of the winners.
The announcement of the winners was made at a ceremony attended by Dr Ibrahim al Nuaimi, undersecretary at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Yousif bin Ahmed al Kuwari, CEO of QC, partners and supporters of the programme, and students.
Eighteen students out of the 1,697 participants from 259 private and independent and other schools were declared winners in this edition of the programme.
Khalid bin Abdullah al Kaabi, Abdullah Masoud al Marri and Bara Mohammed Khairuddin topped the list of winners in the category of primary, preparatory and secondary schools for boys, respectively, while Sarah al Nuaimi, Asma Ashraf and Shahad Abdul Rahman won the first positions, respectively, in the three categories for schools for girls.
Dr Ibrahim Al Nuaimi and Yousif bin Ahmed al Kuwari participated in the distribution of the shields and certificates of appreciation to winners, partners and supporters of the programme.
Dr Nuaimi expressed his happiness at the successful conclusion of the ‘Future’s Writers-3’, appreciating the great efforts exerted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in supporting the programme. He also thanked QC for organising it on a larger scale this time.
In a statement, Nuaimi said more than 1,600 students participated in this edition of the programme, indicating that schools attach significant attention to this programme, which provides the opportunity for students to take part in creative writing with the aim of promoting the Arabic language among them.
Yousif bin Ahmed al Kuwari said, “We are delighted that the ‘Future’s Writers’ programme has achieved impressive successes, as it contributed to nurturing young talents in Qatar in the field of writing stories. The programme witnessed tremendous developments on the quantitative and qualitative levels, especially in its third edition.”
It is worth mentioning that QC received the Social Responsibility Award (SRA) for its ‘Future’s Writers’ programme in the category of the Best National Initiative during the 6th Social Responsibility Awards ceremony organised by Dar Al-Sharq.
The ‘Future’s Writers’ programme is one of QC’s projects, implemented within Qatar with the aim of developing the writing skills of school students.
