As many as 50 students participated in a three-day environmental camp for Qatari students. The camp, that concluded recently, was organised by the Friends of the Environment Centre (FEC).
This was the third camp organised by the organisation. It featured a number of training workshops and sports, cultural and entertainment events to educate participants and develop their skills
Ahmad Rajab Abdulrahman al Nemer Adel and Abdullah al Kathiri were the camp leaders.
Mubarak al Dosari, director of Programs and Activities at the FEC and the general supervisor of the camp, said that the camp aims to promote environmental awareness among Qatari youth.
Dosari added that activities during the camp also included activities with regard to hygiene, recycling, biodiversity and animal mummification as well as external trips to the land and coastal areas.
“The camp aims to establish environmental values and good behaviour among participants and encourage them to participate in preserving the environment as a national duty. We encourage and support youth initiatives aimed at protecting and improving the environment.” (TNN)
