Qatar Foundation (QF) recently hosted HOPE Qatar Centre for Special Needs’ annual sports day.
The event, which was opened by Machaille al Naimi, president of Community at Qatar Foundation, brought together more than 25 students, families, visitors and volunteers at Awsaj Academy’s Recreation Center in Education City.
Children with a range of special needs competed across a variety of games
and competitions.
HOPE Qatar has been providing educational and therapeutic services since 2005. The centre offers sports activities alongside its academic programmes. Activities such as football, karate and yoga are integrated into its curriculum to provide varied experiences to its students.
By supporting HOPE Qatar’s event, QF showcased its dedication to promoting inclusiveness in sport. Other initiatives include providing access to world-class facilities and training opportunities for people with autism through football and
swimming classes.
