Foundation stones were laid on Wednesday to mark the start of construction of a new technical institute to provide dedicated technician training for Qatar Armed Forces.
A symbolic stone was placed by QAF Chief of Staff HE Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al Ghanem and BAE Systems CEO, Charles Woodburn.
The institute will include a comprehensive technical training system and will have the latest equipment to enable trainees to carry out all required work efficiently after receiving an internationally recognized diploma in technical disciplines.
Technicians will be able to work on all the equipment in the Qatari armed forces that will serve the purpose of self-reliance.
