Qatar Charity (QC) has inked a cooperation agreement with the Qatar Lawyers Association (QLA) to enhance cooperation and partnership for community service in Qatar.
The pact was signed by Yousif bin Ahmed al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity and Rashid bin Nasser al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of the Qatar Lawyers Association.
Under the deal, the two parties agreed to undertake a series of humanitarian initiatives, which will be agreed upon, to benefit the community in order to achieve the comprehensive development of “Qatar National Vision 2030.”
The two parties also agreed that the Qatar Lawyers Association would provide legal advice in some humanitarian cases with no fees, in addition to any other legal consultations and services agreed upon by both parties and transferred by Qatar Charity. The two parties also agreed to share relevant experiences and information through meetings, visits and
communications.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Yousif bin Ahmed al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity said, “We are pleased with this cooperation and partnership with the Qatar Lawyers Association and we look forward to establishing solid foundations for collaboration to serve the community in Qatar and humanitarian issues worldwide.”
He pointed out Qatar Charity’s continuous efforts to cooperate, collaborate and coordinate with various governmental and private bodies and civil society organisations in and outside the country to achieve its developmental and humanitarian goals, praising the association for its community service.
For his part, Rashid bin Nasser al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of the Qatar Lawyers Association, applauded Qatar Charity for its great role in the charitable, humanitarian and developmental field. “We have the honour to cooperate with Qatar Charity in every good work to serve the community”, said al Nuaimi, noting that there would be greater cooperation in the future through many humanitarian initiatives.
In a statement following the signing, Jathnan Mohammed al Hajri, Board Member of the Qatar Lawyers Association, considered the pact very important, as it aims at strengthening cooperation between the two parties on the humanitarian side.
According to al Hajri, both agreed that Qatar Charity, after a careful study, would nominate a number of humanitarian cases for the benefit of persons who cannot afford the services of a counsel to be defended and provided with free legal aidby the Qatar Lawyers Association.
