Qatari teams ninth in Samila Open beach volleyball

Qatar''s Tamer Abdelrasoul and Assam Mahmoud took a set off fourth-seeded Australians Damien Schumann and Cole Durrant but lost the Round of 16 match in three sets at the Samila Open Beach Volleyball Tournament in Samila, Thailand on Monday. Abdelrasoul and Mahmoud won the second set to tie the scores before going doing 17-21, 23-12, 11-15 in 56 minutes. Qatar''s second pair of Saifeddine Elmajid and Mahdi Sammoud suffered a straight-set loss to Iranians Arash Vakili and Bahman Salemiinjehboroun 22-24, 13-21 in 39 minutes. Both the Qatari teams earned the ninth place and 100 points.
