Qatar on Monday inaugurated the Father Amir HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prostheses in Gaza.
Khalifa bin Jassim al Kuwari, Director General of QFFD, announced the launch of the hospital, which was funded by the QFFD on behalf of Qatar and implemented by the Gaza Rehabilitation Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health of Qatar. Qatar has sent doctors to operate and train the medical staff there.
“Providing support to the Arab world, especially to the Palestinians living in Gaza Strip, has always been a top priority for Qatar. This hospital for rehabilitation and artificial limbs aims to provide rehabilitation treatment to Palestinian patients suffering from amputation of limbs and to help them get back to normal life. The population needs this kind of support to live a decent life, especially in light of the difficult living conditions and the challenges they are facing in accessing treatment services,” Kuwari said.
The hospital is built on an area of 12,000 square metres with a capacity of 100 beds.
