Qatar Charity (QC) has started implementation of an emergency relief aid for Syrians displaced from the countryside of Hama and northern Syria towards Idlib.
The relief worth up to QR10 million has helped alleviate the suffering of Syrians displaced from the ongoing conflict in the country.
Through its field office in Turkey, Qatar Charity has recently implemented the first phase of this emergency relief assistance by distributing 1,600 tents for the benefit of 8,000 people as temporary shelters, 6,500 ready-to-use food items for the benefit of 32,000 people, and 3,000 baskets, containing basic food items, for the benefit of 15,000 people. Besides, 6,500 bread bundles are distributed daily and 2,000 personal hygiene kits were provided at the cost of QR3 million.
In the coming days, the rest of the relief aid will be distributed to the displaced at the cost of up to QR7 million.
Qatar Charity continues to distribute food baskets and iftar meals to displaced and affected Syrians at the cost of QR1 million to benefit 14,705 families.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Qatar Charity provides iftar meals and distributes coupons for food parcels to Syrian refugees in Turkey at the cost of QR1 million. More than 7,300 affected families are expected to benefit from them.
Qatar Charity also implements 25 collective iftar tables for internally displaced Syrians as part of the projects of its ‘Ramadan, the Gift of Giving’ campaign.
Some 21,375 iftar meals were distributed during the first 10 days of the Holy Month of Ramadan. More than 7000 meals are expected to be distributed during the whole month of Ramadan. Iftar meals and other meals inside Syria are prepared through five kitchens belonging to Qatar Charity.
