Amir, US officials vow to bolster bilateral relations Jul 12, 2019 0 664 12345 QNAWashingtonThe Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani met top US officials and senate members in Washington and discussed ways to strengthen Qatar-US bilateral relations in all fields.The Amir met Chair of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Senator James Risch and Vice-Chair Senator Bob Menendez. Members of the committee senators Mitt Romney, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, Rob Portman, Marco Rubio, Ben Cardin, Jeanne Shaheen, Tom Udall, John Isakson, Ron Johnson, Tim Kaine, John Barrasso, Jeff Merkley, Todd Young, and Edward Markey attended the meeting at the US Congress headquarters in Washington DC.The committee members praised the strong cooperation between the two countries, especially on the political and military fronts. They also praised Qatar’s expansion of the Al Udeid Airbase and hosting of more American forces.
