THE Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ on Wednesday announced a temporary closure on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Tunnel from Friday (July 19) until July 26, to enable the works of the final layer of asphalt on Khalifa Avenue.
During this period, traffic change will be implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
Road users coming from Gharraf at Al Rayyan area and heading towards Doha will have to use the signalised Gharrafat Al Rayyan interchange instead of the closed tunnel, as shown in the map. The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure and requests all road users to abide by the 50kph speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
