Altogether 1,192 inspection raids were conducted by the Al Rayyan Municipality on food outlets in June, a Ministry of Municipality and Environment press release said on Wednesday.
The Al Rayyan Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section of the Municipal Control Department, also detected eight violations on a single day during the raids.
Subsequently, the ministry ordered closure of a shop and sent 40 samples to the central laboratory.
Meanwhile, the MME said approximately 770 tonnes of local agricultural products were sold last month.
The sale was conducted through two main programmes -- ‘Outstanding Product’ and ‘Qatar Farms’, with the former selling 199 tonnes and the latter 570.5 tonnes.
