The Investment Promotion Agency LLC, an investment promotion agency specifically for Qatar, was launched on Wednesday, with the aim of further attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country.
The Advisory Board will be chaired by Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed al Kuwari, and includes HE Ahmad bin Mohammed al Sayed, Minister of State and Chairman of the Qatar Free Zones Authority; HE Sheikh Ali Alwaleed al Thani, representative of Prime Minister’s Office; Saleh Majid al Khulaifi, Acting Undersecretary for Trade Affairs; Yousuf Mohamed al Jaida, QFC CEO; and Yosouf Abdulrahman al Salehi, Executive Director, Qatar Science and Technology Park. Sheikh Ali Alwaleed al Thani has been named the CEO of the Investment Promotion Agency.
