STUDENTS and teachers of DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) recently attended the inaugural ceremony of the Science Club. The event was organised by the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) Qatar with the aim of promoting scientific temperament and inquisitiveness among the science enthusiasts in Qatar.
Magsaysay Award winner and Padma Shri Dr Prakash Baba Amte formally inaugurated the Qatar ICC Science Club. He was welcomed along with his wife, Magsaysay Award winner Dr Mandakini Prakash Amte, by ICC President Manikandan and Vice President Vinod Nair.
In his speech, Dr Amte advised the students to indulge in meaningful social work while pursuing their careers in order to contribute to the uplift of the deprived sections of the society.
The students also got an opportunity to interact with Dr Amte who urged them to be humane, loving and compassionate in action rather than in words alone.
The event ended with a vote of thanks, followed by a photograph session with the dignitaries.
