Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan bowed out of the Espinho Four-Star in Portugal, after suffering a narrow 25-23, 20-22, 13-15 loss to Canadians Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter in 56 minutes. The Qatar’s sixth seeds qualified for knockout after finishing second in Pool F. Fifth last year here, they opened with a comfortable 21-16, 21-14 win over Italians Andrea Abbiati and Tiziano Andreatta. But Spanish 11th seeds Adrian Gavira and Pablo Herrera upset them 21-19, 25-23 to top the group. The 17th-place finish fetched Younousse and Tijan 320 ranking points.
