UDC signs QR1.2 bn deals for projects at The Pearl-Qatar Jul 21, 2019 0 1305 12345 Tribune News NetworkDohaUnited Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari public shareholding company and the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Islands, on Saturday signed three agreements pertaining to major projects at The Pearl-Qatar.The first agreement was signed with “Orbital Education” a leading British educational group, to run a school - “United School International”. UDC penned a second agreement with Darwish Engineering Company for construction of the “United School International”.The third agreement was signed to award “Ramaco Trading & Contracting Company” to undertake the design and construction of three gated compounds in the Floresta Gardens Precinct.Ibrahim Jassim al Othman, UDC President and Chief Executive Officer and member of the board, said that the total investment in projects amounts to approximately QR1.2 billion.Othman and Kevin McNeany, Chairman of “Orbital Education” co-signed the agreement during a ceremony held at the Oyster Building at The Pearl-Qatar, in the presence of British Ambassador to Qatar HE Ajay Sharma.“United School International” will be the second school in Qatar to be managed by “Orbital Education”, which owns and operates a growing group of international schools across the globe, such as in Hungary, Slovenia, Spain, Russia, China and Ecuador.These schools cater to students between the ages of 2 and 18 years and specialise in delivering the British Curriculum, to meet the needs of an internationally diverse student population.The British ambassador said, “I am delighted to congratulate UDC and Orbital Education on this great education collaboration. I am pleased that the British Embassy and the Department of International Trade in Qatar have supported the School to achieve this excellent outcome.
