COLOURFUL Eid Al-Adha festivities dazzled visitors at Souq Waqif, Souq al Wakrah, and Katara Cultural Village. Families enjoyed games and shows across these cultural hubs, as well as at the city’s beaches, where conditions were perfect for soaking up the last of the summer holidays. Malls participating in the ‘Summer in Qatar’ programme kept families busy with special entertainment shows for children of all ages.
Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) Chief Marketing Officer Rashed al Qurese said, “Eid is a time for celebrating with family and friends. We at QNTC are pleased to bring people together for the holiday, as we wind down our largest summer programme. With the collaboration of over 30 public and private sector partners in hospitality, retail and entertainment, ‘Summer in Qatar’ has demonstrated the commitment across sectors to further evolve our offerings and build a sustainable tourism sector.”
Mashal Shahbik from QNTC said, “This Eid marks the end of our biggest ‘Summer in Qatar’ programme and we are thrilled to see so many people enjoying the activities on offer, especially the wide array of indoor entertainment events. The collaboration with partners across a range of entities is part of a wider strategy to diversify Qatar’s tourism offerings and develop year round options for visitors and residents of different cultures and ages.”
Qatar’s first-ever indoor snow themed park Snow Dunes opened its doors to the visitors on the second day of Eid at Doha Festival City Mall. Spread over more than 9,500 square metres, the park offers a variety of rides and attractions suitable for the whole family as well as food & beverages outlets, retail store and party rooms. There are Silver, Gold and Platinum packages for individuals priced at QR190, QR240 and QR490 as well as VIP rooms and party packages. Snow Dunes is the third indoor theme park operated by Trimoo Parks at DHFC after The Angry Birds World and Virtuocity.
In addition to unique shows and roaming activities, shoppers can still participate in the last raffle draw of the season and get a chance to win cash prizes worth a total of QR400,000 and a grand prize of a McLaren Spider 570S.
