World football governing body – FIFA have confirmed that September 3 will be the date when the official emblem for Qatar 2022 World Cup will be revealed.
Qatar will host the World Cup for the first time in its history, and the history of the Middle East and the Arab countries from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
A major milestone on the road to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be the launch of the official emblem.
To jog memory of some of the iconic emblems of the past, FIFA.com has invited fans to take part in the FIFA World Cup Greatest Emblem bracket.
From Tuesday (August 20) until Monday, September 2, fans can take part in the voting on the official FIFA World Cup Twitter account to find their favourite, spanning from 1930 through to 2018.
It’s a vote that that will bring back memories for fans like the first Panini album or even the first World Cup they may have watched on TV.
The first of five preliminary matches is Switzerland 1954 against Sweden 1958. The bracket will then progress into a Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals. The final will take place on September 1, with the winner announced the following day (September 2).
Which emblem of the 21 so far will come out on top? We look forward to seeing what you, the fans, decide before we reveal the 22nd Official Emblem of the FIFA World Cup, says the website.
Meanwhile, Qatar is also set to host the FIFA Club World Cup next December as part of its preparations for Qatar 2022 World Cup.
