A delegation from Kuwait headed by Major General Mansour Mohammed al Awadhi, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Ports Security Affairs, visited the Hamad International Airport (HIA) on Tuesday. The objective was to get acquainted with Qatar’s experience in the security of airports, and technological measures adopted to facilitate the movement of passengers.
The visit of the Kuwaiti delegation comes within the framework of coordination, cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two brotherly countries.
The delegation was acquainted with the security system, modern equipment and advanced technologies used by the airport security departments to ensure safety of passengers. The delegation also listened to a presentation on the tasks provided by the Airport Passports Department, the latest technological measures adopted by the department, as well as the electronic gates at the arrivals and departures halls.
Brigadier Issa Arar al Rumaihi, director of Airport Security Department, said that the Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the modern systems used by the Airport Security Department.
Brigadier Mohammed Rashid al Mazrouei, director of Airport Passports, said the Kuwaiti delegation praised the electronic gates system at Hamad Airport and the eye scanning system.
At the end of the visit, Major General Mansour Mohammed al Awadhi, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, praised the security measures adopted by HIA. (QNA)
