Continuing its gaining trend for four trading sessions in a row, the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) main index gained 90.82 points, 0.88 percent, to close at 10,466.49 points Wednesday.
All seven sector indices closed in the positive territory on the day that saw total wealth of investors rise more than QR5 billion to QR577.9 billion at the close of the trade.
The day saw both trade value and volume rise compared to the previous session.
While the volume of shares traded increased to 156.88 million from 120.477 million on Tuesday, the value of shares increased to QR306.51 million on Wednesday from QR298.443 million in the previous session.
The insurance sector, which gained 3.47 percent, was the best performing sector index for the day.
The real estate sector gained 2.24 percent on the back of impressive gain of 3.87 percent and 3.26 percent in the share prices of Ezdan Holding and Mazaya Qatar respectively.
Foreign investors remained bullish throughout the day that saw 31 stocks out of the 45 traded make gains. While nine stocks closed lower, there was no change in the share prices of the remaining five stocks.
