Al Rayyan municipality has issued the maximum number of building permits (229) in September 2019, 30 percent of the total issued permits, according to monthly data published by Planning and Statistics Authority on Wednesday.
Doha and Al Wakrah municipalities came in second place with 154 permits, i.e. 20 percent each, followed by Al Da’ayen municipality with 103 permits (14 percent), followed by Umm Slal 47 permits (6 percent), Al Khor 31 permits (4 percent), Al Sheehaniya 22 permits (3 percent), and Al Shammal 18 permits (2 percent).
In terms of type of permits issued, data shows that new building permits (residential and non-residential) constituted 50 percent (379 permits) of the total building permits issued in September 2019, additions permits constituted 45 percent (341 permits), and fencing 5 percent (38 permits).
By analysing new residential buildings permits data, villas top the list, accounting for 74 percent (228 permits) of all new residential buildings permits, followed by dwellings of housing loans at 18 percent (55 permits) and apartments buildings at 7 percent (21 permits).
On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings permits at 54 percent (38 permits), followed by governmental buildings 27 percent (19 permits) , industrial buildings like workshops and factories at 11 percent (8 permits).
In a quick review of the data on building completion certificates issued during the month of September 2019, according to their geographical distribution, Rayyan municipality also topped the area for issuing maximum number of building completion certificates (84) or 24 percent of the total issued certificates.
Doha came in second place with 76 certificates (22 percent), followed by Al Wakrah 65 certificates (19 percent), Al Da’ayen 57 certificates(16 percent), Umm Slal 29 certificates (8 percent), Al Khor 19 certificates (5 percent), and Al Shammal and Al Sheehaniya 9 certificates (3 percent) each.
In terms of type of certificates issued, PSA data indicates the new building completion certificates (residential and non-residential) constitutes 74 percent (257 certificates) of the total building certificates issued during the month of September 2019, while the percentage of additions certificates constituted 26 percent (91 certificates).
Villas top the list, accounting for 54 percent (122 certificates) of all new residential buildings completion certificates, followed by dwellings of housing loans at 37 percent (82 certificates) and apartments buildings at 5 percent (12 certificates).
On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings completion certificates at 48 percent (16 certificates), followed by industrial buildings like workshops and factories at 42 percent (14 certificates), governmental buildings at 9 percent (3 certificates).
Comparing the number of certificates issued in September 2019 with those issued in the previous month, an increase of 35 percent has been observed. This increase was clearly noted in most municipalities including Al Khor (90 percent), Umm Slal (81 percent), Al Shammal and Al Sheehaniya (80 percent) each, Doha (65 percent), Al Wakrah (33 percent), Al Rayyan (25 percent).
On the other hand, there was a clear decrease in Al Da’ayen municipality (3 percent).
