Doha Rugby Football Centre (DRFC) and Sri Lankan Air Force team (SLAF) will play a friendly match at the Doha Rugby Club pitch on Friday at 6 pm.
Mercure Grand Hotel is the main sponsor of the match with DRFC, Rambler, Rayan Water and Well on Restaurent being dedicated to organise more rugby activities in Qatar.
The SLAF team, led by Ranuka Prasath Medagedara, was welcomed by the management of the Murcure Grand Hotel and DRFC.
DRFC Secretary Dharaka Dias expressed his deep gratitude to Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dias and Rugby Air Force Chairman Commodore Prassana Balasuriya for facilitating the tour. He also praised the high level of the team which finished runners-up in the prestigious Clifford Cup in Sri Lanka last year.
Skipper Medagedara, Nuwan Perera, Charith Senaviratne and Parakrama Rathnayaka represent the national team and are looking forward to display their talent in front of their fans working in Qatar.
Brook of DRFC urged the local rugby fans to turn up for the match and encourage both the teams, adding he is trying to developing rugby integrating more Sri Lankan talent with the centre team.
