A signing ceremony for the establishment of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Congo took place at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York on Wednesday.
Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN HE Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif al Thani signed the agreement on behalf of Qatar, while Congo’s UN Ambassador Ignace Gata Mavitawa Lufuta signed on behalf of his country.
The two sides underlined the keenness on strengthening and developing the friendly relations and cooperation in the political, economic, trade and cultural fields.
The two sides also stressed the importance of establishing bilateral relations in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and expressed their confidence that the agreement will contribute to the development of the bilateral cooperation and the consolidation of world peace.
