STENDEN University of Applied Sciences-Qatar, in cooperation with Blood Donation Center of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), recently organised a blood donation campaign on its campus in Bin Omran. A large number of students, teachers and non-academic staff took part in the event.
The campaign was held as part of the university’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The university has stepped up such activities in recent years to enhance the impact of its services rendered to the community.
The campaign continued for the whole day and the donors, residents of Qatar, underwent preliminary medical tests before being allowed to donate blood.
The donors expressed their satisfaction over their participation in the event.
Dr Ivan Ninov, executive dean of Stenden University of Applied Sciences- Qatar, said: “We are very happy to be a part of this noble and very important initiative, the purpose of which is to save lives. As usual our students and staff were very excited and enthusiastic about participating in this initiative, and we can proudly say that our university community has always been actively engaged in various CSR activities across Qatar. Apart from being a high-quality higher education institution we contribute to the development of the local society in many different ways.”
The university had organised a blood donation drive successfully last year also.
