More than 1,500 visitors attended the recently-concluded Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference (Rowad Conference) 2019 held in Doha.
Organised by the Qatar Development Bank, the three-day conference began on November 12 and saw the announcement of four Rowad Award winners on the first day of the conference.
This year’s conference, the fifth edition, drew a large number of visitors and participants from a variety of industries in Qatar as well as SME’s over three days.
More than 49 workshops were held with the
attendance of 1,207 participants.
QDB CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Khalifa said, “We are delighted to see a large number of participants at the fifth edition of Rowad Conference. This is yet another testimonial of QDB’s vision and mission to support SMEs in Qatar through a myriad of advisory and financial services, and to contribute to thediversification of the national economy.”
The Rowad Conference 2019 hosted a large number of entrepreneurs and investors in addition to the general public who attended to explore the entrepreneurial landscape in the state, offering a valuable platform for networking and knowledge exchange.
The inauguration of Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2019 was marked with the announcement of four winners of Qatar Rowad Award in its second edition. This edition featured the Innovation Award category launched for the first time to attract creative entrepreneurs, and to emphasize on the importance of innovation as one of the vital
elements of entrepreneurship that ensures sustainability of the business and its ability keep abreast of the latest developments in the global market.
The conference occurred as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, and is a national initiative that brings together Qatari entrepreneurs and industry key players in Qatar to exchange knowledge and discuss possible opportunities to support entrepreneurs across different sectors.
