Geneva: A Chinese epidemiologist’s suggestion that the incubation period of the new coronavirus could be as long as 24 days should be treated with great caution, a senior UN health official says.
Some people get exposed to the virus more than one time, making it seem as if their incubation period lasts very long, World Health Organization (WHO) emergency operations chief Mike Ryan told a press conference from Geneva.
Although an article by Chinese epidemiologist Zhong Nanshan spoke of incubation periods of up to 24 days, it also makes clear that the median observed incubation is only a few days. (AFP)
