The Amir hh Sheikh Tamim
bin hamad al Thani patronised
the 13th education excellence
Day award ceremony
2020 at Doha Sheraton hotel
on Tuesday under the theme
“excellence Builds Generations”.
The ceremony was attended
by Prime Minister and
Minister of Interior he Sheikh
Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz
al Thani, a number of
sheikhs and ministers, heads
of the diplomatic missions accredited
to the state, senior officials
in the education, higher
education and research sector
and parents of the outstanding
students.
The Amir honoured 83
winners of the education
excellence Award, who are
Master and Doctorate’s degree
holders, university and
high schools graduates and
outstanding primary and preparatory
education students,
in addition to the winners in
the categories of outstanding
teacher and school and scientific
research.
A film about the 2020
Award and the winners in various
categories and their future
aspirations to serve their
country was screened during
the ceremony.
Addressing the award ceremony,
Minister of education
and higher education he Dr
Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed
al hammadi thanked the Amir
for patronising the ceremony
and sponsoring this award
since its inception 13 years
ago.
The minister hailed the
important role and sincere efforts
of the late former Minister
of education and higher
education Sheikha Ahmed al
Mahmoud, who contributed
to the development of education
in Qatar and was one of
the founders of the education
excellence Award.
he said this edition of the
award has witnessed a qualitative
development in terms
of the nature of participation
and the honoured persons, as
about 300 students and educational
institutions competed
for this award, 83 of whom met
the criteria for excellence.
