THE Health Control Section at Doha Municipality's Municipal Control Department has booked a supermarket in Al Sadd area for storing food items in a nearby workers' housing.
Acting upon a complaint against the shop, a team of municipal inspectors raided the workers' accommodation and found a large amount of various food items stored in unsanitary conditions there.
The place lacked the minimum hygienic requirements and adequate ventilation. The ceilings were found to not fit the requirements. Besides, rodent wastes were discovered near the stored food items, as well as 'expired' products alongside valid ones without isolation.
The 'shop' has been consequently booked for violating Law No 8 of 1990 on the Regulation of Human Food Control. (TNN)
