All the projects related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be delivered on time, a top official of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has confirmed.
Engineer Ali Ghanim al Kuwari, Executive Director of the SC, said:"Work on the Qatar 2022 projects is going on in full swing. All the projects are in an advanced stage of design and implementation."
He said the first World Cup stadium will be delivered at the beginning of 2017. The development work of the Khalifa International Stadium is expected to be completed soon.
The Khalifa International Stadium, which will host matches through to quarter-finals stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is located at the centre of all the 2022 venues.
The stadium will play a pivotal role in the mega tournament. Its unique geography and advanced transport systems will make it the best-connected international football competition ever.
"We have not confronted any obstacles so far. We have not seen any delay, whether in design or implementation stages of the World Cup projects. Even there were no hurdles in the road and other projects announced along side the Qatar 2022 projects," Kuwari was quoted by Al Watan as saying.
