The state-of-art Turkish Hospital with advance facilities and emergency services is all set to open in Qatar soon, a top official of the hospital has said.
The Turkish Hospital with around 100 bed and five operation theatres will be a vital addition to the existing medical infrastructure in Qatar.
The first-of-its-kind joint venture outside of Turkey, the hospital will provide world-class medical services by Turkish doctors.
"The idea of starting a Turkish Hospital in Qatar was conceived around two years ago and has quickly become a reality with the active support from the Qatari medical authorities and the Qatari partners Taleb Group," Dr Volkan Uygunucarlar, Managing Partner-CEO of the hospital, told Qatar Tribune in an interview.
Dr Uygunucarlar applauded the high medical standards and strict guidelines followed by the Qatari licensing authority in granting speedy permissions needed for setting up hospital in Qatar.
"In fact, our facility managed to get the licence in the very first inspection made by the authorities," he said.
Dr Uygunucarlar said the very idea of starting this hospital was not merely based on commercial considerations but also on the humanitarian aspect to provide best medical care.
"Patients will not be treated as customers," stressed Dr Uygunucarlar."Any patient no matter what class, creed or country deserves the best possible medical attention," he said.
"As doctors, we realise our responsibility and have developed procedures based on our long experience in the field of patient-care. We believe in procuring the best available diagnostic equipment and all our facilities are world-class," Dr Uygunucarlar said.
"Moreover, it has been seen that many of the patients from Qatar prefer to get treatment in Europe in the hope of better medical facilities. However, with the availability of the world-class treatment at Turkish Hospital in their backyard, they will have no reason to travel abroad for treatment," he added.
Namik Cafer, a representative of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Doha, expressed his happiness over the setting up of the Turkish Hospital."As we have a sizeable Turkish community living in Qatar, it is good news for them, at least they can now feel more comfortable in expressing their medical ailments to the doctors understanding their native language," he said.
