The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested eight African nationals for pickpocketing and theft who were found active in crowded areas.
The CID has formed a special team to nab the culprits after the department received several complaints of pickpocketing and theft.
The department has also seized valuable items from them.
The eight have been referred to the authorities concerned for further action.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged the public to take care of their belongings, especially in crowded places such as markets and bus stations.
The MoI has urged the public to cooperate with security agencies in case of thefts and pickpocketing.
