CATHERINE W GICHUKIDOHA Reyada Medical Centre, one of Qatar’s newest healthcare facilities, recently conducted a ‘soft launch’ opening its doors to its first patients about two weeks ago. The state-of-the-art medical facility, which will offer affordable and high-quality services to all, is slated to have its grand launch in the first week of September.With the vision of ‘Inspiring Better Health’, Team Reyada aims to create a healthier future for all by providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services.Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Hamad Al Thani, chairman, Reyada Healthcare, was the guest of honour at the recent ‘soft launch’ of the facility. He was accompanied by Fathi Ibrahim Aburish, managing director, MBHH, Major Ahmed Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Reyada Healthcare’s Managing Director Jamsheer Hamza and Executive Director & CMO Dr Abdul Kalam.Sheikh Jassim said, “Reyada Medical Centre, with its excellent team of doctors, medical and non-medical staff, is poised to become a valuable addition to the healthcare sector in Qatar.”The facility is a fully digitalised clinic led by an expert team of highly experienced doctors and staff from around the world. With 10 departments presently functional - Internal medicine, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, General medicine, Orthodontics and General Dentistry – the centre is set to add another nine departments, including dermatology, cardiology, plastic surgery and many others, soon.Reyada Medical Centre operates in accordance with the highest international standards and offers world-class medical services, featuring state-of-the-art radio diagnostics and laboratory medicine facilities, a fully equipped pharmacy and optical services.Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Reyada Healthcare’s Managing Director Jamsheer Hamza said the facility would cater to all segments of the community. “Reyada Medical Centre aims to empower the common man with world-class health care, ensuring that clinical and service excellence is within the reach of everyone,” he said.Hamza said the facility will use preventative strategy with health check packages for people to get their health checked. “We are trying to keep our community healthy at affordable rates whereby people can avail themselves of medical check-ups regularly. For instance, we are going to launch five packages that will cater for lifestyle diseases, with a special package of QR149 through which one can avail 63 tests,” he informed.The facility is conveniently located on C-Ring Road with ample car parking space. It is open from 7am to 12am all days of the week.According to him, the facility has more than 100 staff, including 24 highly qualified doctors and specialists, nurses, paramedics and others. Some of the prominent doctors are Dr Majunath (internal medicine); Dr Arvind Kumar Salian (orthopaedics); Dr Nijo Joseph (ENT); Dr Georgeen Ann Joseph (Paediatrics); Dr Manju Venugopal (ophthalmology); Dr Farah Naz (diagnostic imaging); Dr Krishna Prasad HV (laboratory medicine); Dr Waseem Abbas Qureshi, Dr Shukoor Karikulakkat and Dr Ederlina Tacla Pagaspas as general practitioners; Dr Reeba Mary Isaac (orthodontics) and Dr Parheen Akbar Shaikh (general and cosmetic dentistry).Hamza said the medical centre features a team of multicultural doctors so that the patients can express themselves to the doctors in their language as the experts come from countries such as the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan etc. “Patients can communicate in English language to their doctors but they can express themselves better in their own local languages. For instance, Filipino patients can express themselves in their language if talking to a Filipino doctor,” he added.The facility will have three expansion phases. “The second phase will begin in about a month’s time when we will unveil the specialty services,” he said.According to him, the facility will have an in-patient service in the future, especially for post-in-patient care where the facility can partner with sister hospitals that are here. He added that the facility’s doors are open to insurance companies for cooperation in order to provide care to the patients.Dr Abdul Kalam welcomed everyone to “the historic moment for the future of quality healthcare”, adding that this was just the beginning for the Reyada Healthcare group.
