'It gives me great pleasure to be present in Doha as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to be witnessing the National Day of the State of Qatar on December 18, 2017. On this auspicious occasion, I would like to congratulate the Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, the Father Emir His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, the Government and the people of the State of Qatar.
Bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar are based on strong foundations of mutual respect and common religious heritage. I am sure that these bilateral relations will further strengthen with the ever-increasing interaction between our people. Enhanced connectivity whether through frequent flights by Qatar Airways or through the new shipping routes opened between Karachi and Hamad Port are having a major impact.
The free visa scheme for Pakistani citizens is also a significant step taken by the State of Qatar in increasing not only people-to-people contact, but also in facilitating business delegations and tourism in Qatar. This ever-increasing interaction will give rise to new opportunities for cooperation between our peoples.
I am confident that the cooperation between our two states will continue to advance and I congratulate the leadership of Qatar on its vision and leadership.
Once again, I extend my felicitations and express the hope of the people of Pakistan that Qatar will continue on its path of progress and prosperity.'
