Hundreds of thousands of expatriates participated in the National Day events organised by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) at various places across the country. Main venues of the activities were Asian Town, Labour City, Barwa Al Baraha in Doha Industrial Area, Wakra Sports Club, Rayyan Sports Club, Barwa Workers' Recreation Complex in Al Khor, Asian town cricket stadium. As many as 6,000 students from 18 schools also took part in various cultural activities at three venues. Six venues hosted 10 Indian shows, 20 Nepali, 20 Sri Lankan, 27 Bangladeshi, seven Filipino, six Malaysian and six Indonesian cultural performances. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions. Government departments such as Public Relations Department, Community Policing Department, Establishments and Authorities Security Department, Traffic, Civil Defence, Al Fazaa and Hamad Ambulance, Lekhwiya and Private Engineering Office, took part in the events.
