The Next Generation school (TNG) celebrated its eighth anniversary with a special assembly organised to appreciate the efforts and achievements of the students in the 2016-17 IGCSE examinations. It was a moment of great pride for the school to have Class X student Minahil Maqsood receive the CIE 'Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award ' for securing the highest marks in Islamiat in the June 2017 Cambridge examinations, in Qatar. High achievers in different subjects were also appreciated for their hard work and dedication. The certificates were given away by the guest of honour Zoheb Khwaja and Commodore Irfan Taj.
Principal Qudsia Khan acknowledged the efforts of the teachers, students and parents for working with dedication to achieve remarkable results. The Academic Excellence Award ceremony began with presenting certificates to students who achieved outstanding results during the 2016-17 IGCSE examinations.
Students Minahil Maqsood, Mahnoor Imran Rafique, Mariam Riyaz Bakali, Fatima Rizwan and Tooba Aziz were presented the Outstanding Performance award. The High Achievement award was presented to Khadijah Aim Qureshi, Saad Ahmed Khan, Ibrahim Ibidapo, Ayesha Ahmed, Aamna Asim and Mahrukh Bakali.
Recognising the achievement of students in different subjects, Ahmed Faseeh Nawaz, Minahil Maqsood and Mahoor Imran Rafique were rewarded for the highest marks in 'ICT'.
In 'Islamic Studies', Khadijah Asim Qureshi, Fatima Rizwan, Minahil Maqsood, Mahnoor Imran Rafique and Tooba Aziz secured the highest marks. Mahrukh Bakali and Fatima Rizwan achieved highest scores in 'English', while Ayesha Ahmed and Mahnoor Imran Rafique were presented award for 'Urdu'.
Fatima Rizwan of Class X was also appreciated for winning the 'Young Writers Program Open Mic Night', organised by the US Embassy at Katara.
Islamic Studies teacher Riffat Ishfaque was presented an award for her ongoing dedication, passion and commitment to bring out the best in students.
A shield was presented to Khwaja and Taj as a token of thanks for attending the ceremony. School Director Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students and said,"Faith and discipline in life can help one reach greater heights. It is only because of the commitment of parents, teachers and students that we have been able to witness this special moment."
