LONDON : A former Premier League and World Cup star has revealed how he has been left feeling suicidal after losing his multi-million pound footballing fortune. Emmanuel Eboue raked in vast sums in earnings during seven years with Arsenal before heading to Turkey where he was paid £1.5million a year during a five-year stint with Galatasaray. But the 34-year-old African – who used to live in a mansion and drive flashy cars – is now effectively skint after losing all of his assets during a bitter divorce battle with his Belgian wife Aurelie. The Ivory Coast defender is now unable to play football because of mental health issues and says he has been pushed to the brink of suicide after finding himself in a downward spiral. He said to the Daily Mirror: “I want God to help me. Only he can help take these thoughts from my mind.” Eboue hasn’t seen his three kids since June and has even had to hide from cops and bailiffs after being ordered by a judge to transfer his remaining London home to his wife. The fallen star admits he was totally uneducated about how to deal with money and that all his worldly belongings are now contained in a handful of bags.
